Following the exam portion of the vibist, we will take time to clean the teeth. With a dental cleaning, we will use an ultrasonic scaling device and a manual tool to gently and thoroughly break up and remove plaque and tartar. This takes only a few minutes, and can help lower the risk of cavities down the road, and also fight bad breath and teeth stain risk too.
Treatments to Prevent Tooth Decay
Did you know we also offer preventive treatments to help lower the risk of tooth decay in little smiles? Once your cleaning procedure ends, we can apply a special fluoride varnish to the teeth to help keep the outer enamel strong and lower the risk of tooth decay for months to come. For the rear teeth, the molars kids have trouble reaching when they brush and floss, we could apply dental sealants. The thin acrylic coating helps prevent cavities from forming between the teeth they have trouble brushing and flossing, and can stay in place for years to come!
