Restorative Dentistry With Lifelike Results

If you have sustained an injury that chips or cracks a tooth, or one aches due to a cavity or infection, then we can help. Restorative dentistry allows us to repair teeth and even replacement teeth that have become lost! In today’s blog, your team at Sunny Smiles talks about our custom dental restorations!

Our Dental Fillings

When you have an aching tooth and we discover a cavity, we can offer relief in one sitting with a dental filling. While metal restorations are effective, we instead opt for a metal-free and more natural looking selection, one safe for all ages. Our composite resin fillings can be shaded to blend with the smile, and bond with the tooth due to the material’s biocompatible nature. Placement only takes one visit too!

Custom Crowns

If you require a more substantial restoration, then our team could provide a crown. The restoration fits over the tooth and addresses everything above the gum line. Again, we take care to select materials that not only handle daily bite forces and pressures, but that can be color-matched to blend with your smile. For your front-facing teeth, we could choose all ceramic for a lifelike appearance. The side and rear teeth will need to receive one that can handle daily bite forces, so we may opt for porcelain-fused-to-metal or zirconia, both of which can also be color-matched to blend with your smile. Crowns can also restore bite balance and chewing function, address decay or infection, and even repair damage!

Dental Bridges

If you lose a tooth, we can help with restorative dentistry. For example, we can create a dental bridge that addresses a single missing tooth or up to three in a row. The prosthetic contains one or more new teeth, known as pontics, with crowns attached to each end. All are made from ceramic, which can be shaded to blend with the surrounding teeth. We attach the crowns to the abutment teeth on each side of the gap, which can support the new teeth for years to come, often as long as 15!

Dentures

If you have tooth loss too severe to be treated with a bridge, then again restorative dentistry comes to the rescue! With removable dentures, we can create a full or partial to take on severe or total tooth loss. These can last for years to come. But for a fixed and longer-lasting selection, we could support our dentures with dental implants.
